im starting to think if people are no longer interested in ads (the viewers).

i run a site which receives between 2-3 million page views per month, and before you ask, no it is not a "scrap" site. its a gaming site.

despite a decent amount of traffic it seems as if people aren't interested anymore.. i read the optimizing tips at google but it doesnt have much affect.. i don't want to jump the gun on yahoo but im wondering if there is room for improvement or should i just move on to other publishing methods.. i've been strugling with adsense for about 6 months.

The yahoo program has lots of flaws still. The advertiers dislike the layout overall.

I think the higher paying ads will be with AdSense.

It's true. Just like banner blindness, "Ads by Gooooogle" blindness will happen sometime for sure. However, I see that your problem is more likely because of your audience there. Mostly younger people with not much of an interest to spend money online, unless they steal their parents' credit card numbers.

Did you try rotating the ad colors? In some cases it decreases the "ad blindness".
