AdWords has now launched their new conversion tool for advertisers, and it has also been incorporated into AdSense ads (not just the AdWords that appear in the serps).
The new code appears as this:
[googleadservices.com...]
(This googleadservices has plenty more extraneous URLs and characters I didn't include, making it at least twice as long as the standard googlesyndication URL).
However, this new feature for AdWords does not include the availability of specific ad networks or domains for advertisers, at least not at this time.
Will I be able to see conversion rates by ad network site?
No. It is not possible to see your website conversion rates by individual ad network channels. Conversion reports are currently available only across sites in the Google ad network.
[adwords.google.com...]I have confirmed that these tracking URLs are appearing in regular AdSense publishers ads, as well as the premium publishers AdSense ads. But the FAQ implies that it might not yet be network-wide at this time.
Which conversions will be tracked by Google?
Google conversion tracking is currently offered only for clicks originating on Google.com and selected ad network sites. Conversions on some sites cannot at this time be tracked. We are working, however, to provide conversion statistics for all ad network sites in the near future. This FAQ is not dated by Google, so perhaps running these conversion tracking URLs was not launched AdSense network wide (perhaps originally excluding regular publishers) when this feature was first launched.
My Adsense code has not change. It is still the googlesyndication.com URL.
It depends on the individual advertisers whose ads you are displaying, and whether each one has chosen to use the conversion tracking on the ads. It seems that only a small percentage of advertisers are currently using this tracker.
In the average AdSense skyscraper, you could have all googlesyndication URLs, or a variation of some googlesyndication.com and some googleadservices.com in the URLs. And as this conversion tracking becomes more popular, I suspect we will see less and less of the googlesyndication URLs appearing.
