What is an impression for Link Units?

Can anyone explain what Google considers an impression in regards to link units?

Is it when a visitor views the initial ads on a page or when the viewer clicks on the ad and then goes to the links that eventually generate income?

Thanks...

Correct otherwise we'd be clicking on our own ads.

Optirex,

Thanks, but I was referring to impressions, not clicks.... unless of course that is the case, which was my original question....

The way I understand it is that there is an impression made when the adlink unit is viewed on the page, and if the visitor clicks on one of the links then a second impression is made by viewing the page of ads.

Hi everyone,

Once I was on a competitor's website and I accidentally clicked one of their AdLinks.
They have nicely customized the colors and formatted perfectly for the site. Because of that I didn't noticed that it was an Ad. I was so disappointed. :)

So.....NOW MY QUESTION IS;
After clicking the AdLinks Ad, I was taken into a Google's Ads Page where 6 or more descriptive ads were listed.

Do that competitor receives money for my click that took me to that Google's Ads Page or I had to click one of the Ads in that Google's Ads Page for him to earn money?
Otherwise, is the first click counted as an "impression" and only if I had clicked one of the Ads on the Google's Ads Page counted as a "click"?

Please somebody clarify this to me. Thank you.

I really can't see that going to the page that displays the list of ads would count as a click. At that point no advertisers ad has been clicked on.
