I show the ads on my forum “showthread” pages, my forum has a white background and orange design, so I use the 728 x 90 leaderboard layout, the layout has an orange background (and borders are also orange) and font is white, so I added a 728 width table right above it, there is a one pixel white line that separates the Adsense code and the table above, inside my own table I have an orange background same like the adsense background and white links (to different forum sections and back to homepage).

The adsense code is untouched, the links table and the white separator are placed above the adsense code without any interfering, but when you look at the page you think they are one piece.

I saw people adding pictures above the code and I think this is the same, but wanted to be sure if im doing it the right way or no?

PalX –

While the situation you described in your post is slightly different, I advise you to read my post on the following thread:

The same guidelines apply to the implementation techniques you have described.

If you have any doubt as to whether your site complies with AdSense program policies, I recommend emailing your URL to adsense-support@google.com for review. :)
