Music Lyric websites aren't scraper sites, although the vast majority of them seem to "borrow" information from one another. Does G frown on sites that are dedicated to lyrics? Does anyone here have any experience with those types of sites?

Hi,

I think as long as the site is giving information for what the users are looking for google can not and should not do anything... I am music fan and know some of the websites myself, they realy share their database but I think they dont get people who are searching for credit cards they only get people who are looking for the lyrics or maximum songs and music.

Hope this helps.

send me the link of the site if you have a question for a perticular site.

Thanks
Bye

Biggest proboem I see with lyrics sites is, someone, somewhere owns the copyright.

From a practicality point of view there is also the dup content issue.

Turns out, G said it was okay.

sidenote: there's one particular lyrics site that I've known about for years that has the lyrics to every major artist within a particular genre, and they're still running. So not sure how much the copyright issue has come into play.

I think it's an area of copyright that is very, very grey. Someone wrote it so it is copyright. I think most people, including publishers see it as educational?
