Mine was in the bank 2 days ago!
I see no reason to pay for EFT in the UK because the systems work perfectly well. Since payments in Sterling were introduced I have received mine the day following the offical payment processed information plus the exchange rate is spot on.
My boss's boss gave me a thruppence! I hadn't seen one of those since my first trip to
Britain in 1965 when people could still but cigarettes and 'petrol' without selling the family house.
By an odd arithmetic coincidence back then, the USA and British penny were almost of equal value.
A pint of strong (6%+) ale was about a 12 cents/pence.
It was a rare Yankee who could spend a whole dollar and walk away unassisted.
I didn't waste much time in art museums. The thruppence (3 penny piece, half a 6-pence) was the
coin used in pulic telephones then. It had 'flats' around the perimiter.
I brought back a lot of very very wonderful memories. Best wishes - Larry
Hello Optirex! Is the term 'sterling' still in use?
Definitely still in use, in fact I think we're one of the very few countries, maybe only, which has two accepted international terminologies for currency transactions being STG for Sterling and the now more commonly used GBP for Great Britain Pounds.
I've got a tin full of old thrupenny bits, halfpennies, tanners (6 old pence) and bobs (1 shilling), then of course the half dollar and dollar as they were known (2/6d and 5 shillings).
The first legal beer I drank was 10d a pint which was 24 pints to the £1.00, whereas a pint now costs anywhere from £2-3! Nothing like inflation...still at least computers have reduced in price.

How exactly are we paying for EFT?
I'm a big fan of it. I always get the money into my account bang on time, the NatWest don't charge me the fees they used to for cashing $ cheques, nor do they take between 1 and 4 weeks to do it, and they can't rip me off on the exchange rate.
Google give a very fair exchange rate, and I reckon that with not having to pay the bank charges and have a poor exchange rate I'm £20 better off per month with eft.
The other benefit of eft over £ cheques is that I no longer have to trog down to the town branch to pay the cheque in - saves me parking charges too :)
