CTR shoots more than three times in one night - Worried

I have a small site, with about 100 orignal articles, and is not very popular on search engines. Its gaining ground only in last two months. My CTR is around 15% or so. Today - suddenly - 50%+ CTR gave me a shock and surprise too. Earnings also thrice of average.

I have heard of spikes but never really expereined this. Because my search engne positions in google arent too good, and on MSN is a topper in a few keywords, I guess it would have come from there, but a 50% CTR sounds crazy.

I have mailed G on this.

Has anyone experiened this?
How do i analyze this situation?

Did the traffic spike too? A huge jump in CTR while traffic remained constant would seem odd, though weird stuff happens; a big traffic jump (e.g., from a particular link or SERP) might bring in visitors looking for something and more likely to click on an ad.

Perhaps a specific ad ran which caused many more clicks...
