How long you was with google?

Read some of the other threads for details, but to summarize the basic advice, contact Google, assure them that you have been following the AdSense TOS (reread it first to make sure that you have been!), and ask them what you can do to be reinstated. Offer your server logs if you have access to them.

If, when you reread the TOS, you see that there WAS something you did that might have violated the TOS (such as calling attention to the ads), fix it right away and then tell Google you fixed it. Apologize and ask to be reinstated.

If you'd like advice from other AdSensers as to whether or not there might be a problem with your web site or traffic, tell us about your site, what's on it, where you get traffic. Put the URL in your profile and invite us to visit it.

If Google keeps saying no, keep writing back. But be polite. People who really have done nothing wrong have been reinstated, but you need to be persistent and open with Google.

Good luck.

This is what you posted yesterday...

I see some posts of people reaching their first $100 dollar days. My question is, was it slow in beggining for all of you. I have adsense running for a month now. My first day i made 44 cents. then two weeks of $0. Now I brining between 4 -10 dollars each day for ads. I have added search into my pages and have already made $7 off of that for today. So my averages per day are really begining to pick up. If I continue to push hard will I be @ the 3 figure days?

it really is exciting. I have had adsense running for a month now and i have passed $70 in my first month. I have reacently added adsense for search and it doubled my revenue. I am adding content every week. around 7 - 10 pages per week. I would like to add 70 - 100 pages per week for the next year. I want to really see my earnings in june 06.

Please answer this question...

How did you jump from making 0 for two weeks to $70 in you first month.

Maybe if you answer this question we can tell you why your account was disabled.

jmaresca2005, I can't add much to what hunterdown has said. Read the webmaster guidelines in addition to the TOS, double check that you'd be happy for Google to manually inspect your site (and cached versions they have of your pages). If you have always been fully compliant then you may get reinstated. However, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the fact that your account is new doesn't help.

The chances are that if you look hard enough you'll find some possible reasons for the problem. If you do ...mention those to Google, apologise, reiterate your commitment to keeping within the TOS, and request they review their decision.

Maybe if you answer this question we can tell you why your account was disabled.

That is an unkind response and not in the spirit of Webmasterworld.

petra, do you really think that an increase from 0 to $70 is likely to be seen by Google as suspicious? When people are starting out, they may put ads in all the wrong places, and then figure out what to do after spending a little time here. I know I went from 0 to $200 a month very quickly. If you've read other posts of jm's, it's obvious that s/he has been spending some time here recently, learning.

Well, for one thing it was obviously sarcastic. Secondly, it pointed out the inconsistencies publically. Anything I miss?

I'm asking a legit question, if he doesn't want to answer it he doesn't have to but I think the key to why he was kicked out is in the answer.

Joe, did they give you any reason for disabling your account? (i.e., was this an "invalid clicks" notice, or something else?)

I think the key to why he was kicked out is in the answer.

It could also be normal growth/learning curve.

We do need to know more if we are going to help.

and it could also be that he purchased suspicious traffic.

In the spirit of webmasterworld camaraderie, let's also give Petra the benefit of the doubt. In fairness to her, she was trying to make a point that may be useful to jmaresca2005. If jmaresca2005 really wants to learn from this, he/she may want to answer Petra's question objectively, and with no hard feelings. Cheers to all!

petra, let's put it differently: What do you think can cause the standard "invalid clicks" email?

IMO most invalid clicks e-mails refer to clicks generated in a fraudulant manner.

They use "invalid clicks" to mean "violation of TOS". "Invalid clicks" is standard wording irrespective of the actual TOS or guidelines you've violated. It also covers the violations (intentional or unintentional) that you are probably guilty of as we speak :)

I've heard of several instances lately where people have changed the default search to site rather than web and had their accounts disabled for that. Obviously the ad to search result ratio would be much higher that way, somtimes nothing but ads showing up, particularly on smaller sites as he appears to have had.

That's why I'm not guessing as to what percentage is invalid clicks and what's we-don't-like-your-site-because-your-visitors-are-chinese. He could have got the email for all kinds of reasons and it is presumptous to suppose you have a good idea as to the real cause.

I don't really understand why people got all over petra when the first response to the thread was:

I think this should have been said about Fryman's response.

Fair enough but what do you think we should do when asked a question like that? Simply refer the poster back to Google? They will probably send him another canned response. We need to get to the root of his problem and the only way to do that is to ask direct questions.

ohh no.

Is it really against TOS to change search default to current site rather than www? If so I shall remove the search entirely..

If that was cause for invalid clicks then it would make more sense to warn the person rather than totally kick them out.

have reacently added adsense for search and it doubled my revenue.

My experience on content sites is that search doesn't bring in as much money as the content ads. For me the ratio is about 1:100, but this may differ from site to site: the size of the site, quality of internal navigation, menus etc. A ratio of 1:1 as in this case is IMHO very exceptional and might have triggered some red flag at the Googleplex.

jmaresca2005, can you give some more info about the role of the search option on your site? Do you have a content site with a search, just in case people are looking for something, or does search have a prominent place in your site structure?

Also, did you use the on-site searchbox yourself and may you have accidentely clicked on the ads in the SERPs? Although these SERPs look like Google SERPs, they are still part of your AdSense account and you should not click on them.

ganderla, speaking just for myself, I thought that posting what was meant to be a helpful response as message #4 was enough of a response to message #2, albeit an indirect one....

sailorjwd, no, it's not against the TOS. The point was that there may have been a problem if searches were performed which came up empty, meaning that there would only be a page of ads.
