Message Too Old, No Replies

Too Bad we cant show(off) our works!

A more transparent world of adsensers would evolve.

We love to talk of our sites and our earnings here. A community is evolving with great friendlyness.

I am not challenging the TOS out here, but if we had a way to show and share the websites we are doing for adsense, a lot of us could learn much more.

Today, we talk of techniques we implement in adsense sites, we talk of new sites, new designs that may bring better ctr. or just the chnages we make in our sites. The fun and joy would be multiplied if we could see the sites our fellow adsensers too.

We shall have true bouquets and brickbats here on the sites and i am sure overall standard would improve.

I also see the posibility of problems due to this. Jealousy and clickfrauds may increase. But overall, i feel the standards would improve.

( I also see scrapers hiding and running out if this happens )

You do have the option to include your site url in your profile ;)

For some reason I think the risks would outweigh the benefits (which is probably why you don't see more people with their URL in their profile :)

URL in the profile is just about yourself. AdSensers are now buiding quality sites every now and then, and then changing them.

Also, sometimes you create something so beautiful and nice that you feel like sharing. Other times, you want to show and ask for advice. Then, many a times you want others to comment and give a general feedback on your techniques.

Think on....

You could always link to a page containing a portfolio of Adsense sites from your profile.

I'm quite happy with the status quo. My beautifully crafted sites are shared with several hundred thousand visitors each month already ;)

If you want to show off a portfolio - create one and link from your profile.

Scenario 1:
-----------

I could see your URL and say, 'put your ads a bit to the left'.

You could do it, and reply to say that it increased your CTR massively.

You later make other changes to layout, as you probably do every few months.

Next year, someone else reads this thread and wants to increase CTR in the same way. Looks at your site and can't figure out which ads are being refered to as they are gone altogether now.

Scenario 2:
-----------

You talk about having your ads in the right hand column of your site, but having a low CTR.

I refer to the Google Heat Map, and suggest that moving ads from the right hand column into the central section may increase CTR.

You try it, and report that CTR was improved.

You make countless changes to your design over time.

Next year, someone else reads this thread and wants to increase CTR in the same way. Reads that the trick is moving ads from the right column into the central area, sees the basis in the Heat Map, and is able to benefit from the advice immediately.

Scenario 3:
-----------

A lurking scraper just loves your site so much they copy it on a server in a foreign country and puts AdSense everywhere and makes a ton of money while laughing at your threads about you being penalized for duplicate content.

Scenario 4:
-----------

Someone that didn't like your reply to their post click bombs your AdSense links and gets you booted from AdSense for "invalid clicks"

This could go on and on....

Sobriquet, I see your point. I would suggest checking out other similar forums which do allow what you describe. They certainly have their place. I feel WebmasterWorld forum is a step above that with general higher civilty most of the time and higher quality of posts. Plus you don't see any Google reps visiting them as far as I know. Each forum "format" is useful and I think many users here do not limit themselves to just the WebmasterWorld adense forum, but may also frequent other forums from time to time as well.

Get a sense of humor.

However in all seriousness by sharing our masterpieces as the topic starter suggests my wife and dog would starve, and I would be outta beer, so word to the wise, keep your work your own, as frustrating as it may be at times.

Simple way to share is put your link in your profile. If you have more than one, make a portfolio.

If you are promoting sharing and not even putting a link in your own profile, I don't think it'll get far.

Actually, why would a member who was active in here WANT to do that?

After all we didn't have anything to d with his getting terminated.

Don't make sense to me.
