I am using Yahoo search API for my site as it is more flexible than G. Is it against TOS to put adsense on the search results?

I'd guess not, as it shouldn't matter whether the search results are extracted from your own internal search engine or from an external service provider.

Do be aware that the AdSense bot always calls at least twice per block of ad code, which may exhaust your allocated number of Yahoo API hits (5000 at the moment?) more quickly than you'd expect, unless you cache the results somehow.
