When I first started with AdSense back in March, I was so excited with the immediate (pretty decent) income that I started thinking of ways to quickly increase my revenue more. So, I took heavily contented web pages and made multiple pages out of them and increased my site page total from 500+ to 800+ and this all took place in March and early April.

What I did decreased my revenue drastically because I took established pages that ranked in the top ten and made them new pages that simply could not be found. These mistakes could actually take years to fully recover from. My site unique visits went from 145,000 down to 112,000 in two months! I am starting to level out now.

What I should have done is what I do now. I add at least one good quality page per day and continue to add content to other pages as needed in my daily routines. If I feel the need to break up a heavily worded content page, I do that very slowly as Google will make you pay dearly for growing to fast!

Everything that you do with your site needs to have a delicate balance (actually with anything that you do). Learn from others mistakes. Trust me, this was a big one! I feel that being greedy cost me thousands of dollars! I wish I had found Web Master World earlier so these mistakes could have beed avoided.

Remember, content is KING! Keep adding good content and everything else will take care of itself.

Best of luck in following your dreams!

yes it does but it doesn't hurt to shake things up every now and then either. Big changes can big bring big changes and then the balance will settle in again. It's like a law or something...

Good lesson shared. I agree & think it is always best to leave good performing pages alone, and if you are itching to get more from it add a single page here and there targeting the same audience/topic with a different keyword. Add new, don't redo. If underperforming remove slowly and try another approach.
