I've read discussions about some browsers not displaying (or maybe I should say rejecting) AdSense code. My question for our resident experts is...
How do browsers block AdSense code? Is it by (a) disabling all Javascript or (b) rejecting only a certain type of Javascript or (c) something else that I haven't considered?

a) is an option, sometimes enforced by paranoid system operators b) not possible, AFAIK c) people can use their HOSTS file to redirect all requests to pagead2.googlesyndication.com to localhost, which effectively blocks all AdSense ads.
