I have read people getting contacted by someone at Google's Optimization team. Just wondering how you went about doing it, was it just a random email?

Login to your account, and you sometimes see the notice about how to request optimization from the AdSense team. Hit reload a few times, and you should see it in the rotation of notices they display on the main page.

Jenstar, all I've ever seen is a link to an optimization tips page. And unless I've missed something, there's no info. on there about how to request a review.

I think they offer the review to publishers at a certain level, not just premium publishers. Perhaps they even have a way to identify sites that need optimization alogrithmically!

i am not sure about a threshold, but i am quite certain that they wont offer optimization tips to everyone simultaneously. it takes their team some time to review the site and contact the publisher. this is definitely something that they would roll out over time.

As many of you know, you can optimize your own site by following some of the recommendations on the AdSense 'tips' page:

[google.com ]

Since every site is different (and each of your users differ), to best optimize your site you can test which ad formats, colors, placements, etc. are most effective in boosting your click-through rate. You can use custom channels to do this.

A couple of days ago another thread emerged which discussed channels in more depth. If you're interested, check out:

Once you know which ads appeal to your users, you can apply these lessons throughout your site.

Hope that helps!

I had requested personal optimization about 4 weeks ago. They basically sent a standard reply refering me to the Optimization tips page. It seems that you may need to be at a certian level or something. But it doesnt hurt to drop them a request.

Good Luck

i am not sure if google adsense will appreciate a flood of emails requesting optimization tips. if everyone does this then they will have to spend their time responding to emails, as opposed to helping to optimize.

when you dwell on it. google benefits from optimation tips themselves, since they get a percentage of every click. so the first thing they did is make an optimization tips page for everyone to see. the first thing to do is read it SEVERAL times, and implement away. then go back and implement some more ideas.

as far as the personalized optimazation... don't you think they would start at the top, at the big money-earners... where an improvement in 1% CTR leads to really big money.

i expect they will work their way down, and eventually get to many if not most publishers.

asking to be moved up in the queue, is not likely to help.

A friend of mine who runs one site was offered optimisation and would be earning of the order of $600-800 per month, so not really big league. It's a really good site though, excellent content, and ranks well in the serps. I would imagine it would be one that people looking at sites to place cpm ads on would love, since it is all info about a money area but sells nothing directly.

The consultation was very useful, changes were made, results were quite quickly evident.

The consultation took the form of quite a long telephone conversation, almost an hour, and it was evident that the Google person was very familiar with the site by the time the conversation took place, so I imagine that an individual can only do, say, 5-6 consultations per day max. So I suppose you just have to get lucky :)
