Okay I must be getting old. I am completely bored with video games. So to fill up my time at night I have decided to try to launch a site thats primary function is to generate a small amount of adsense revenue. I would be happy with enough to cover my hosting costs as this will be mostly an execercise with organic seo.

My question is this. I have this idea for a web site. It regards widgets. But within this widget niche there are other niches that also generate quite a bit of search activity and with #*$! the keis look very nice with minimal competition. Seems like a great place to wet my feet. The only question I have is should I launch my first niche site with its own domain or should my first site contain all the niches within a theme? Hope that makes sense.

Depends on how broad the niches are spread IMHO. If the topics are related, and it makes sense to group them on one site, then that's what I'd do. If however, they aren't related it may make more sense to have separate domains. As a surfer, I'd prefer a site to stick to one topic or area, and do it well - as opposed to picking lots of random, unconnected topics.

It should be an interesting exercise - I take it that you know about the "Google sandbox"?

Best of luck with it anyway.

Yes familiar with the SandBox. This is not the first site I have launched and whether I am just lucky or who knows I was able to avoid it previously. That is not to say how I know I have avoided it in the past, but have for whatever reason not been put in it.

Actually your comment did make me think. I guess what I was contemplating combining could be considered an extension of one another but are primarily different things if I look at it from the perspective of the user.

Make a separate domain for every niche you expect to attract lots of incoming links by itself. Combine all the others in one theme site.

In some cases it makes sense to repeat the separate niches in the broader theme site and crosslink.
