What is the best way to figure out which pages on your site are the top performers for adsense? Is it recommended to remove adsense from underperforming pages to increase overall revenue?

Thanks!

Gomez -

topr8 is right, custom channels are a good way to analyze the performance of specific pages, ad units, etc.

Check out this thread, which addressed a similar topic:

yes read that thread, channels are your friend, use them.

believe me you will be astonished by the results, people talk here, talk is cheap - although there really are solid gold nuggets buried here at WebmasterWorld.

but you can't beat your own mining, when i first committed the bulk of my channels to testing i was shocked at the variance of the results. Forget about performing/unperforming pages, think types of ad unit, color variation and so on. Don't be shy of using 20 or 30 channels all on one page or group of pages.
- at 3 ad units a page that only gives you 10 color and position variants for each.

serve different ad units and colors randomly on the same page, if you don't know how to do this, learn how, it will be a lucrative lesson

How do you guys define underperforing pages?

Low impressions, CTR, EPC, CPM,?

I define low performance as low ad unit CTR. In the past, I have experimented with ad unit placement, heeding the advice of so many here, and making the colors of my ads blend into the site pages more (no borders & a:link, a:hover using the same formatting as the othe links). It hasn't made much of a difference. My CTR is all over the place - as high as 24.4% and as low as 2.6%. My CPM has been all over the charts too from very high to very low.

I'll check out the threads about incorporating channels. Hopefully that will make a difference in seeing exactly what is going on.

Thanks for your advice.

Hey Topr8, I have been incorporating channels as you and ASA suggested. You are definitely right, great tool! It has helped me learn more about my visitors and increase my earnings. Thanks for the encouragement.
