1,000,000 page impressions per month
x
10% CTR
=
100,000 clicks
x
.70 cents per click
=
$70,000 per month ($840,000 per year)
Just imagine!
And 1,000,000 page views can be generated with as little as 250,000 visitors!
Please keep posting...
as little as 250,000 visitors
Hardly 'little'?
It's a nice dream you have but the reality is that sites that get that number of visitors are inevitably on very popular topics. They will rarely if ever have a click through rate of anyhting close to 10% and ditto an EPC of .70.
A more realistic view of site with that number would be:
1,000,000
x CTR of 1.5%
15,000 clicks
x .15c per click
Earning you $2250
Alternately you might have a well targetted site in a more niche area like this:
50,000 page impressions
x 7.5% CTR
3750 clicks
.60 per click (high, but possible I suppose)
$2250
Neither get you into the UPS club, both get the same outcome.
It's all about traffic on one level, but not ALL really - just extrapolating wishful thinking figures is not creating realistic targets or expectation.
I see no reason for any high traffic website (that uses Google ad hot spots) with high quality visitors not to have at least 5% CTR.
Now, when it comes to EPC = you might be right! Let's assume we get $0.25 per click.
Now,
1,000,000 page views per month
x
5% CTR
=
50,000 clicks
x
$0.25
=
$12,500/month
Not bad at all! Dude, this would get you into UPS club!
Anyways, we are kind of getting off topic now. The issue here is - how can we reach 1,000,000+ quality page views per month with little or not cost (legally)? That's the issue!
So, what do you guys think? Let's figure how to do this together.
IMHO It's not just all about traffic - last months page views from a couple of my sites (I'm not a UPS club member - and not all those pages had adsense on then):
site a: 469,132 page views
site b: 4,814 page views
Both earnt about the same (within $100).
Some of the higher traffic terms are/were easy(ish) to rank for, but the easier ones are, of course, harder to monetarise, adsense or otherwise - personally I prefer my sites that are like site b and I'm trying to move toward building strong sites in smaller "niches".
Mack.

HOW GOOGLE PROTECT US FROM BAD PEOPLES WHO MAKE INVALID CLICKS ON OUR WEBSITES?
HOW GOOGLE PROTECT US FROM BAD PEOPLES WHO MAKE INVALID CLICKS ON OUR WEBSITES?
That's a significant question, and one that I'm sure all the PPC providers are working hard on.
Trying to cut to the chase from my previous rambling post....IMO if you want to make money by sending your users to others sites - you need to have a site that targets people who are somewhere in the buy cycle/process....that way there's the hope they'll convert for the destination of your traffic, and the destination site will be willing to pay for your traffic.
Still, I get only 10 visitors per day refered by MSN. That's it.
So, I had to come up with somewhat unusual advertising methodology. Let me tell you the secret, hope you tell me some of your secrets too.
Now, I advertise my website by throwing wireless signal into other people's notebooks. Since I live in downtown, there are thousands of people around me. One skyscrapper with 40 floors can easily house 20,000 people. Many people have laptops, and when they search for wireless signals they get "url of my website" as one of wireless networks available. That's how I get 99.9% my traffic to survive.
PS: I get only about 20,000 page impressions per month.

Do you guys have any thoughts on how to reach 1,000,000+ quality page impressions per month (legally) with little or no cost?
Seriously, though - I'm with you. If I had a million quality page impressions, I'd be rich. ;-)
Just go to 500.000 and then do that again.
lol is it that easy? So:
Reach 100 and do it again,
Reach 200 and do it again,
Reach 400 and do it again,
Reach 800 and do it again,
Reach 1600 and do it again,
Reach 3200 and do it again,
and one day, your grandchildren will see that 1.000.000 visits.
You must hit big as soon as possible and make it an exponential growth. Ask yourself, is it a hobby or business you are doing. If you need to invest, do it now. Do not expect such big growth naturally, with no investment within your life span.

I have a pretty good idea considering I get 1.5M/month heading to 2M/month based on current trends. It's a combination of SEO and IBL, you need to blanket the SERPs with as many relevant terms as possible and get as many relevant IBLs as possible then sit back and let nature take it's course.
One other obvious thing to do is run a newsletter so you can send out small snippets of information with links back to the web site for the full story weekly or monthly which can generate thousands of quality hits a month.

* Get publicity for your site through press releases... also helps to build credibility as an expert in your field. ;-)
* Get Slashdotted a couple times per month on top of your regular traffic levels. ;-)
* Produce frequent, unbiased and timely industry news and apply to become a source for Google News so your articles are aggregated by Google. ;-)
* Build inbound links to about 450,000 and get a PR7 for a couple of your sites ;-)
* Blog about what you know best, 3-5 times a day and once that site breaks into the 4 digit Alexa Rank club, use it to filter traffic to other sites in your network ;-)
Heh heh... Oops, better not give away the farm.

The trick is getting stable longterm traffic, ours which I consider the best makeup is
30% return user
40% se ref
20% ibl
10% newsletter
Now it takes a touch more work to achieve this type of spread but it certainly helps keep you more stable.
We started in my garage and now have 5 employees and a office with a massive network, it is doable if you are crazy enough:)
But I wonder if this part of the original question was part of the game-plan of those who make it big:
with little or no cost?
I really do not believe that those sort of numbers come either free or cheap, even if you exclude the value of your time.
For sure they are not part of Chris Cheno's plan - for example he spends a fortune on domains. Excellent investments in most/many cases, but neither free nor cheap.
That's not to say you have to have a lot of money to get anywhere, but you have to be prepared take what you earn as it grows and use it to invest, reinvest and then reinvest some more, often with considerable risk, to really make it big.
with little or no cost?
The real question is what you define as a "cost." For instance, I consider 3 years worth of free time (@ 10,000 hours!) a pretty steep cost. Not that it isn't or wasn't worth it, but only that 10,000 hours worth of labor (whether laborious or not) is costly, even if it never requires you writing a check or swiping a credit card.
In reality, you cannot achieve even a single impression at NO cost, and you certainly cannot expect to attain high levels of sucess for little or no cost, since at the very least, it costs you an enormous amount of your time.

Maybe You are here in the wrong group.
Try to search with google after
MLM
pyramid games
or something like this.
I will reach 1 Million quality impression per month
in one or two years.
I work nearly full time, beside some few web design clients for this target.
I visit interesting projects and fairs for this.
My wife started to study English and to translate all my sites.
Maybe some years of work already invested on the way to this target.
Little or no cost? Stupid question.
