to every Google Adsense Publisher out there who makes money on CPC. My revenue has plummeted since the targetted CPM has been implemented.

How could Google launched this new model when in fact they know they won't be making more money on targetted CPM?

The truth in this new targetted cpm is like inviting advertisers to not spend more money and use the targetted CPM to save money. This concept is outrageous in business point of view.

If this new targetted cpm won't be removed, Google's revenue will collapse because they wont be making more money as many publishers will start replacing them.

Then stock will eventually tank because their quarterly profit will drop. It will have a domino effect in its entirety.

If YPN comes out, it will become worse because many publishers will definity give YPN a try.

Not really, most of Google's revenue is made from their own SE result pages.

It could be that YPN will perform worse than Google.. Especially in the beginning, I believe Google has lots more advertisers than YPN currently has.

Are you certain they're linked, though? Have you seen the new ads on your site, or seen regular advertisers pull out?

Not necessarily. Right now, a lot of advertisers have opted out of the content network because of poor returns. If Google offers them a way to get better returns from the content network, they'll come back, and they might be willing to spend more money on advertising. After all, advertising on the search network won't eat up the company's whole daily advertising budget in many niches, and that leaves money to go to the content network.

It's going to take time for people to build up trust in the system, though. During that time, some publishers might be hit with lower revenues. The best thing to do is to not panic, and trust in Google's earnest desire to keep raking in the cash.

Asianguy, are you seeing CPM ads on your site? Or are you suggesting that the availability of site-targeted CPM ads is hurting CPC bids?

europeforvisitors, yes I saw a few. Since i have thousands of pages, I've assumed they're crawling their way to my other pages like virus replicating itself to other pages.

my guess... some CPC advertisers will switch over to CPM because that is what they wanted all along. but the addition of CPM to the mix will bring in many new advertisers that stood on the sidelines all along, including some of the bigger players. this influx of cash into the system, will make CPM more expensive, because it is auction-based as well.

CPM may be a bargain for advertisers right now, but once the network starts to fill up, the price should increase, and the effect on CPC will dwindle.

once everything stabilizes, i think CPM will be good for everyone involved (advertisers, publishers and google)

its too early to make any assessments.

It'll be interesting to see how the availability of site-targeted CPM ads affects the market for CPC ads--and whether publishers who can pass an advertiser's "smell test" will attract more ads and earn higher eCPMs over time. (In other words, site-targeted CPM ads could create a de facto "premium network," with CPC representing the lower tier of AdSense.)

Also, are site-targeted CPM ads just the first step toward offering CPM pricing of contextual (a.k.a. page-targeted) ads?

I doubt this as well; I don't think it's anywhere close to "most". Hell, it may not even be a majority anymore.

I would bet, however, that it is the biggest chunk of revenue from advertising if you looked at it compared to all of the individual partners on a pie graph.
