Channel reporting problem

aggregate much higher than channels

Somehow we have a big difference in the number of clicks between the aggregate report and the channels report. The impressions are OK: all channels add up to the aggregate number of impressions. But somehow the clicks and earnings don't add up. We're only using url channels at this point. Just to be clear: the sum of the channel clicks is much lower than the aggregate and we don't have double url's. All channels are at page level.

It's just the clicks and earnings that are out of line, impressions seem to be fine.

What could be wrong?

misread the question and replied with an answer that didn't make sense when I reread the q.

Good thing that AdSense pays based on the aggregate!

Seriously, your question has me stumped.

HITPROF, I see the same thing. I was wondering if I had not set up the channels on all ads.

I am seeing this as well.

I suspect that it is the root page that is being ignored.

I tried setting up a channel called www.widgets.com/index.php - but it is still not appearing in the reports.

www.widgets.com/index.php

that happens the same to me. i used to have a index.html page and it was recording just fine. But when i switched to dynamic index page, the channel is not reporting any.

?

Can't be the index page here as there are no ads on it.

have you accidentally orphaned any pages when you've been updating in the past. I have occasionally found the odd page I thought I'd got rid of that no longer appears in my sitemap or navigation structure but still exists in google (just a thought).

Nope, we checked all.

It looks like it has something to do with url channels. We've now introduces custom channels and those look fine. Somehow Google doesn't register the clicks on the url channels.
