Thinking into the (near?) future... lets say the Yahoo!-Inktomi amalgamation is bedded down and the results start to form the basis of the Yahoo! SERPs. Will Yahoo! be happy about giving a top 5 ranking to sites stuffed with Googles Adsense? Wouldn't that amount to helping the competition make money?

Well, Yahoo's Inktomi lists Burst! Media, Tribal Fusion, Sprinks, Kanoodle, and any number of other ad networks and PPC services. So penalizing sites with ads from a competing ad network would have to be pretty far down Yahoo's list of priorities. :-)
