I have applied to Tribal Fusion, and they have approved me.

The skyscrapers etc I am planning to use do not go against Google TOS. No pop-ups or pop-unders for me. TribalFusion ads cant be mistaken for Google adsense either. They are classy too - if I caonfigure them correctly.

I would like to know if sts still safe enough to add TB ads.

Is there anyone qwho uses both on the same pages? I need to be sure, cant mess up my Adsense revenue.

Thanks,

Matt

not sure about TF but i know a couple of folks using casale and adsense on the same page, just put google adsense ads as text only and think you will be fine

P.S congrats on getting into TF i tried twice but still haven't gotten in :(

Hi,

I am using AS with TF on the same page and it seems to work fine.

I have explicitly banned AS ads from appearing in the TF channel to avoid double-serving, which is not allowed by AS TOS.

My combined income has risen quite nicely.

TF have been very helpful to me, though have yet to respond to my last question to them (is there an equivalent JS click-though tracker for their ads to the one we know and love for AS)!

Rgds

I was using TF and FC on my pages when adsense approved my site...set up with alternative ads...etc.

Google has had no problem with them for 3 months. Love adsense but would not want to be left high and dry if something happened to Google.

btw, don't go with FC, ads are crappy and so is income.

Looking for another to replace it.

while we are on the topic, does anyone know how many ads does tribal allow on a page? i sometimes see 3 ads a leaderboard, sky scrapper and adsense? also i am guessing you are only allowed to have tribal banner ads rite? i mean you cant have tribal leaderboard and casale skyscarpper rite?

Thanks guys!

I have added TF leaderboards to most of my site now.

Their ads - apart from the flashing, warning and smileys - are stuff you can ban, and the rest of their ads are quite classy I think.

Their ad inventory is still a problem - showing smileys to people reading about cars? Screensavers to people reading about flights? It happens, but I think some tweaking at my end, plus their help should take care of that. Plus, a lot of free/ public service ads (which I can choose not to display). That too may change, as advertisers can allocate more ads to a site they like (I think)

They seem to be quite involved with your site, you can ask them specific questions and they reply... But time will tell.

To get in, I think you need a pretty large number of visitors.. 20k seems to be a good number.

As you can see, I am still learning - the interface is tough for me as my past experience is just Adsense.

The trick to that is to disallow CPC and show only CPM ads that way relevancy is a non issue. I use adsense for text only CPC. Works well for me.

You might also consider having the non paying ads from TF default to another adservice such as BurstMedia or CasaleMedia, etc...

I believe it was 5000 uniques a day when I got in in 2003.

TF actually invited me in their early days, which was nice because my sites had been rejected from some other crappo sites like advertising.com

As for Adsense, I asked Google what to do. Their advice was to 'ensure I didn't double serve'. This was before a change in the TOS to allow multiple ads. I simply wrote to TF and ask them to block Google ads. Worked fine.

Darkimage,
I was also invited but they were so new that their website looked sort of....so I turned them down also.

LOL.

After 3 days, this is what I see.

For a site that gets 15000 uniques and more, I am making just about 20 dollars per day.

This is after seting up category-wise tags and stuff.

The number of paid ads is probably 5% of the actual ads displayed.

I am not really complaining - the non-paid ads look good, I have filtered the crappy ads.

Is this normal? Do things change over a period of time?

Ann, Does TF try to sell your site's ad spaces or its ad inventory directly to advertisers? Or they sell it by category?

Is there anything one can do to increase revenue from TF? To increase paid ads? Or is everything out of the publisher's control?

Missed some of the questions but here goes.

#1 you are allowed at least two and a pop under, could be more, don't really know.

#3. I use only banner ads for TC and FC as well as a right side skyscraper for both (one defaulting to the other). Keeps out free public service ads.

#4. I also use TF and FC Pop unders as stand alones all on the same page.. Google only objects to POP UPS.

#5. On index page I have the TF/FC banner, CPM only and right side skyscraper for TF/FC. Individul pop unders (timed) for those two. I have a skyscraper on the left for Google and a top leaderboard under the top banner. On right side I have an adsense adblock under the TF/FC skyscraper.

I try to color blend all google ads.

There are loads of content and internal links on the page so it is not overwhelmed with ads. My visitors come and read a lot before leaving so The number of commercial ads do not seem to bother my page views at all.

I have to keep an eye on FC as those annoying and low paying ads will run the visitors off and I get an occasional email from a regular that complains about an annoying ad, go to FC an ace them out.

All in all, I make the same or maybe a tad lower amount of sales of my charts and a good income from the ads.

Google just bought me a side by side fridge and I am fixing to pay off my home...Could not have done it without Google but neither will I be devastated if Google suddenly falls through.

Good luck with tribal fusion. Their interface is still Greek to me and I have been running them for a couple of years....or so. :)

I have been running TF and Google since Day 1 of AdSense. They are completely different animals and do not conflict in any way. TF is not contextual and it does take some time for them to figure out where your site fits into their scheme of things. I have sampled just about every CPM/banner ad program out there and found TF to be by far the best, just as AdSense is by far the best contextual program.

In short, if you have TF and AdSense, you've got the best of each category.
