A friend of mine as a forum and he opened an account on Adsense, where should he put the adsense code so that the google bots could read the topics text and provided related ads about?

It is always showing public service ads and boring hosting ads that doesn't as nothing to do with the things that are discussed at the forum.
Thanks in advance

That did not work.
Can he have anything blocking the google bots from reading the text? If yes, what can possibly be?
Thanks in advance...

umm i dont think you want to block google from reading the text, cause thats how ur site appears on the search engine.

so you try all three things, and it dint work, :( by any chance your forum is in the main root, instead of a folder,

It's not my forum...But yes i think it is in the main root.
The forum had already had Adsense but it was taken from there because it has low revenue. Now he putted back there but he don't know what he have made diferent because it just don't show any relevant ads...

:) okie, since its on the main root, it wont work right away they got to wait for google to index them again, then they will get relevant ads, if it was like in a folder where they change the name of the folder it would work right away.

so just tell them to wait a week or less, and the relevant ads will come up, you'll see :)

The ads are there for almost a month, the regular way...

Since yesterday with the changes you talked about...

I have adsense on two forums, and both forums are powered by IPB2.

From my experience, best place to implement ads is:

<% MEMBER BAR %>
adsense here
<% NAVIGATION %>

Works like a charm, never seen one public service ad. The thing is that forum maybe doesnt have enough contents, or isnt in English. Give it some time and in the mean time get contents.

Jarodboy, Adsense can work very well on forums. I'd suggest being sure the basic optimization is built into the page templates - Google's smart, but it does need content, along with titles, headings, and other page elements to know what a page is about.

If you are still getting PSAs, be sure that the content itself is good, i.e., contains sufficient keywords to identify a coherent topic. If it is random chit-chat, for example, it is unlikely to draw good ads. Of course, even focused content has to be on a topic that has ads.

I don't think i'm explaining very well...

The forum already HAD adsense...I showed relevant ads then...
The adsense code was removed from there...
It was put there again about a month ago in the same exact place then the previous time and now it only show's PSA and hosting stuff that nothing has to do with the topics...The forum has 4 years, it has no problem about content...:)

Is there anything possible for my friend to have blocked that made the google bots got blind?!

I hope i explained well, i'm portuguese...

3 days ago I was told I should put ads on my forum. I'm thinking.. well.. I get a bunch of repeat visitors, so that's not exactly a good idea. And I cringe when people post about the ads, even if it is just "Funny ad that displayed, look at this!" etc.

Well looking at my logs, I noticed my bulletin board system (vBulletin) somehow gets most google searches to turn up posts from the archive (which is basically a very dull layout that looks as if it's made especially for google crawling). Normal visistors do NOT see this layout (I believe..).
Anywho, I *only* put ads on this "archive" board, and man, it's looking pretty good. My board is very small -- yet somehow I make a nice $10 extra a day just from these new ads. Very nice CPM since there is somewhat nice content posted on the board, and the dull layout really brings out the ads (a combination of adlinks and a nice fat regular ad).

All this, and almost no compromise to duplicate clicks, etc, since 99% of the traffic coming to these pages are directly from google.

It's surprising how you can find new ways to make money with only 5 minutes of work :)
