Do some page optimizations, jugle your ads around different sectors of pages. It should work.
I'm removing Adsense from 80+ sites tonight since CTR is up BUT earnings are way, way down even for the end of the month, 25% down on the end of March and 40% down on the end of last month to be precise!
Monday's clicks were 25% more than Sunday with identical earnings and I know that the advertisers in my niche are not paying less.
I am going to experiment and ration my advertising space on a further 25 sites and if that does not drive up my EPC then a possible complete removal may be the only answer.
Google seems to be no longer my friend:-(
On the bright side, Monday was my best day ever. High CTR and decent EPC = great results. I guess a lot of my visitors were back early from the weekend.
Holiday weekend
I don't buy this at all for my sites. My visitor levels are very steady all year round, even over the Easter holidays my earnings held up at 75% and I'm 20% down on those earnings with the same ad unit impressions and clicks.
Pathetic is too kind.
But are advertisers there? And are they paying the same amount they are paying, say at the start of the month?
Yep! There are plenty of my niche advertisers and I know many of them personally and they are paying the same all month round.
This topic was talked about briefly here: [webmasterworld.com...]
Absolutely nothing has been the same for me since that date, in fact only one day in May has achieved my weekday average earnings during the whole of April!
It will be interesting to see what effect the removal of many sites from my niche sector has.
