Adsense descriptions showing up in SERP snippets

Will the circle be unbroken

I'm beginning to see SERPs influenced by Adwords via Adsense. I didn't realize the ads were spidered for google consumption.

The google searcher gets a double whammy of ad presentation (well, actually a triple whammy).

Can you expound on this? I think they are not spidered and the applications are linked.

The spidering of a javascript-written inline frame would be big news.

That could be a problem or a blessing, depending on the SERP. Quick way to indirectly get into the free Goggle index (through "uncrawled" AdWords). Smells like a lawsuit, but something tells me this is temporary. ;)

john316 - please do share your findings. I always assumed that one day we would see sites with AdSense inch closer to the top of the free index.

Hey JAG

Can't post URL's but an example would be a page that is about the moon now ranking well for "moon polish" with the only on page text for moon polish being inserted by Adsense.

The moon information publisher is now considered by the algo to be a source for commercial moon products by virtue of KW stuffing courtesy of google Adwords.

Maybe what is between the Adsense script tags is just as important as what is between the H1s?

Its too late, posting here means you've all but guaranteed this bug will be fixed.

Personally I hope it does get fixed, money and SERPs don't mix.

Bug? As Microsoft would say....it's a feature. The higher the rank in the free index the more likely to generate revenue for Google by sending traffic to AdSense carrying sites ;-)

Looking at the site gives me the impression that it shows up with the moon polish search because the page contains the keywords moon and polish. On the page it shows the Polish Calendar and discusses phases of the moon.

novice:

I really wasn't referring to a real moon site, just an "WebmasterWorld correct" sanitized example.

I guess I should have stuck to the perennial favorite "widget".

It does seem to be true - you can test it by finding any ad that has been running for a while (ie a couple of weeks at least), searching for an exact match for some unique text in that ad.

There would be no need for spidering as Google already knows what advertisement has been displayed. Just mix it with the spidered data and it's all there.

I'm seeing the same thing with OV ads on yahoo! pages.

Ads are winning the day!
