Thought this was "cute", though not advisable. Found it on a blog site.

Topic: Reverse Psychology

"To any of my students who find my blog:

<paraphrase>
Do not click the links under "Ads By Google" under any circumstances. I am not permitted to ask anyone to click on the links, therefore I am telling all my students to not do it, or they will be SEVERLY PUNISHED.

Now, get back to work..."</paraphrase>

Since the students may all be clicking from a shared IP at the school it would likely look a lot like click fraud. So, it's actually not a bad idea to warn off the students.

That's funny.

But, he's still foul of the TOS by drawing attention to the ads.

I thought so, too, at first... then I saw he titled it "reverse psychology" and realized it was a veiled plea for them to click.

And, true, whatever the case he is still drawing attention!

When I first read your post, I was wondering if he had put in the "reverse psychology" part, or if it was something you added.

Yeah, that foolish teacher is just asking for trouble.

SEVERLY PUNISHED.

This says it all about the state of education in the typical university today.

I was thinking more that it may be a psyche professor showing a class that even if you tell people to NOT do something and tell them why, that they will or will not do it anyway. But I don’t know any details of the site.

In his case, I would insert the AdSense code by SSI and not show for the school IP and maybe a provider special for the students.

New proposal to improve AdSense:

A list of IP adresses, where only alternate ads should be shown.

Would be a much easier solution, than to insert by SSI or other methods.
