I downloaded and installed the Adsense Preview Tool, however I am having problems bringing myself to actualy click on the ads within the preview window. I read the tool instructions and about which say you can safely view the website. Am I reading this right? Is it realy ok to click on the ads displayed within the preview window.

Yes, you can click on them, that's what the tool if for.

But, yes, I know, it's hard to actually let yourself click!

Yes you can click them but be carefull to keep your hands off the buttons when you're done with the tool and looking at a normal web site again - especially your own!

Quite frankly, I have asolutely no faith whatsoever in the tool. It never shows the ads that are actually showing on the page I'm looking at, so how on earth can I believe that the ads it's telling my might be shown in other areas actually are? They are always a mile of target, yet the ads I actually see on the site are mostly spot on.

Junk, Junk, Junk.

At least I think - hope - it gives you some idea of the availability of ads for a certain topic in a certain country. I know it doesn't always show the actual ads. Sometimes I see different ads form the same advertisers though.

I dont really mind the Google Adsense Preview tool. It seems to work for me.

Maybe it depends on the subject? If it's something like "gambling", then there are going to be a HUGE range of adverts that could appear - and not necessarily the ones which you would want.

Anybody got any theories on this?

"Maybe it depends on the subject?"

When I use the preview tool on my site, I see all the ads on the page plus a couple of extra. I've had no problems with it. The page content is more along the lines of model cars than gambling.
