Possible Dumb Question about CTR

When discussing CTR, you guys/gals are talking about your CTR at the day level (for all channels if you use channels), right?

And if not, you make note of the exception in your post, right (i.e. my CTR is XX% for one of my channels or my average CTR for "month" was, etc.)?

I just want to know where people come from...

My CTR is 13% for the day, all channels.
BTW, are we allowed to discuss CTR?

If they don't specify, they could be talking about anything. But, yeah, usually, all day, all channels.

But, then, like the last post, is that ad unit CTR for the day or page CTR for the day? Probably page CTR, that's what most people refer to.

If you see a thread and someone mention CTR, it wouldn't be a dumb question to ask what they specifically meant.

We can discuss our stats in any way we want to here, but in doing so we may also violate the AdSense TOS--the mods are not going to save you from yourself.

Google prohibits discussing specifics of AdSense stats, except for monthly earnings. So any mention of CTR, page impressions, or whatever is technically a violation.

Many people seem not to care. Others, and I'm one of them, talk about our stats using examples or ranges or relative statements, to avoid being too specific.

hunderdown does have a point.

I was asking as I periodically see posts about CTR here and there (especially on other forums) and was wanting a general concensus of what people typically refer to when talking about their CTR.

I tend to keep a tight lip myself.

spaceylacie,

I guess you would need to use channels on a channel per page level to track page CTR, no? Or am I missing something?

I work my channels across a category each (since the channel limit would prevent a channel per page).

It would be nice to be a little more granular though.

"Time-of-click" would be cool to approximate that click to entries in your web server log file.

Google tracks page CTR and ad unit CTR. When I log in, I can click to view either. Channels are a whole other story.

Hunderdown is right, people aren't even supposed to be discussing specific CTRs. Another "oops" in my book. Thanks for the reminder.

Ah, I just un-selected "Aggregate" in reporting and saw "Page CTR". hehe
