By the way, you don't need multiple accounts to have multiple sites. One account can be used for any number of sites.

Until recently, I had the fear (perhaps paranoid fear) that it wasn't a good idea to develop a second site dealing with the same subject matter.

I thought that if you put adsense code on both sites, then at some point a reviewer would say, "hey, this guy is trying to flood the serps for his niche".

Based on recent comments by others here, I now think that neither google nor google adsense really care about a publisher having multiple sites on the very same subject matter. The only problem would be duplicated content.

However, content that is written from scratch for site 2 could never be duplicate content in the eyes of the search algo since "duplicate content" is meant literally.

So, the benefit of having multiple sites would be...to occupy more territory as you wage your campaign.

More territory means catching more users. It also means crowding your competitors off the page.

I’ll add that having multiple sites using AdSense gives you the chance to better test AdSense and find optimal location. Having AdSense only on one site might limit this, as you can’t really change a site’s layout from page to page something that can have an effect on AdSense. That means you can’t or are very limited with one site in studying AdSense location in relation to page layout.

I suggest that you put it on every site that you can. You will make more money :)

I have it on several sites. I think that if I put it on any more it might appear that I'm making sites to put Adsense on. Also, I don't want Google to know everything I'm doing and it's good to have my income diverse.
