On one of my sites there is an adword block on each page.

Using the channels feature in adsense, I can see one day my site generated 2500 impressions whereas my webstats stated that there were 10,000 page views.

Any idea whats going on here, or am I just missing something asusual :)

No, you are not missing something. This is normal and Google addresses this, in the FAQ I think. FWIW, my AdSense and web site's stats never match and there seems to be no pattern. One day they are about the same the next way off. Over all, my wed site always seems to have more impressions than AdSense.

There are probably many good and bad bots coming by your site which never end up executing the java code. This is my theory.

Here is where things could make it off:

- Small search engines...
- People doing referrer spam...
- People trying to download and copy your site...

Depending which web stats prgram you are using it could be up to 70% inaccurate owing to spiders/bots etc.

Webalizer takes everything as a visitor and distorts your view of the world tremendously.

The most accurate we have found and does tally with Adsense is Awstats, however be prepared for that reduction in genuine visitor numbers!

Yeah thats using awstats, and awstats filters out the bots from the page displays.

It would be fine if it was say 10% out, but not 600%!?
