Apart from AdSense chanless, I never used any type of tracking tools. Though I really needed so badly to know more about what's going on at my site, who's visiting, which pages and so on, in an EASY way.
Today I tried statcounter.com, it's a small piece of JavaScript that you put in your pages. And wow! Although the free version allows you only a small log file, but it's AMAZING. The zoom in feature which allows you to see from where on the globe your visitors are coming and the other feature that allows you to see the link path each visitor has followed in your site are just GREAT.
If you've not done any tracking before, I advise you to start right now, and perhaps try this tool.
