Please note that I'm not asking how many adsense impressions you serve (which would be against ToS). I'm asking for an estimate how many average unique visitors your site serves in a single ordinary day out of curiousity.

I don't mean to pry and certainly hope anyone who feels uncomfortable sharing this info simply won't do so. I'm just curious about the range here. I've seen lots of great advice here from webmasters of sites large and small, so please share and share alike if you don't mind and don't think the size of your site matters (it's how you use it ;)).

Also, what genre is your site oriented to? (i.e. entertainment reviews, news, community oriented, contests, blogs, etc...).

Obviously do not give out your website name or URL as that's against this forum's rules.

I'll start: contest site with 100k+ daily visitors.

my old site would serve 600 visitors after 2 years of being around... if adsense had been around then i most likely would have continued doing it :)

So i guess i'm glad it didn't come around until now.

I get between 600 and 800 unique visitors a day for a health related site. i have a dynamic website and the script distinguishes between spiders and human visitors before recording visitors. an ip is only considered a visitor if it hasn't been around for at least half an hour. logging is never perfect but i've tried to filter out as many non-human visitors as possible.

could i ask if all the other figures quoted are for human visitors?

I am getting around 1000-1200 daily for a studies institute web site but I think this is still too low.

Getting around 4000 unique hits for a music download web site.

Getting around 3000-4000 daily for a news web site (Arabic)

getting around 1000-1500 unique hits for a news and forum web site (Arabic)

Average unique hits for a good stable product web site should be around 4000-5000 in order to convert good dollars.

>'Average unique hits for a good stable product web site should be around 4000-5000 in order to convert good dollars.'

shouldn't a statement like that be qualified? if you make $1,000 on a single sale you'd be happy with fewer site visitors than say a site that sells a product for $10

I agree with you but usually (from my little experience) high price sales sites has low traffic rates. For example, a rack web hosting has around 5% of traffic compared to shared web hosting.

Luck!

600 uniques a day - travel (Florida) related, so high value clicks to compensate for low traffic.

Automotive related sites:

Main site:

885,000 page views per day average in September. 22,343 visits per day. In the store part of the site 7750 pages per day.

Other relatively new auto sites:

3500 pages per day. 618 visits.

854 pages per day. 233 visits.

2605 pages per day. 509 visits.

New non-auto sites.

178 pages per day. 84 visits.

61 pages per day. 12 visits.

All sites have had consistent upward growth trends. I do not filter for spiders.

Thanks for the laugh this morning. I guess that explains my low CTR and less than stellar affiliate commissions.

5,000 page views per day on an aviation history website.

(None of those earlier posts really meant HITS, did they? Page views and Unique visitors I understand. But "HITS" aren't too meaningful.)

I too am still laughing at Chiyo's comment. :)

7 "reviews" sites on various topics that are completely my own, 5K-22K/day unique visitors each.

A couple of political sites that I do for free. 2K & 6K/day.

9 apparel and shoe name brand E-Commerce sites (you've heard of most of them) that I run the outsourced "everything technical" for on behalf of the brick-and-mortar companies. 3 sites around 20K/day uniques, 4 that usually hit 50K/day, a couple big names that always exceed 500-600K/day. These sites all tend to double their regular traffic during the holidays.

Biggest pet peeve in all this? Fashion designers always want FLASH FLASH FLASH! I hate flash. I don't ever want to see flash again. I uninstalled the flash plug-ins on my browser so that I never have to see flash again (good thing I have a QA department). Why don't these people get that while a flash site can look nice after you've spent a million bucks paying some creative firm to make it for you, it's sucks for flexibility, bandwidth and conversion rates, and it's even worse for SERPS. Argh..... never mind, now you've got me ranting off-topic. :)

Back on topic, anyone got a good argument for how I can convince some of the brand owners that they should really let me run my adsense code on their high-traffic E-Commerce sites?

convince them by telling abt the revenue that adsense can generate, not even a multimillion company would turn down money if its coming without any extra effort or affecting them adversely.
