Is this true? AdSense says that in order to not to be associated with copiright problems AdSense could not be placed on pages with imageresults.
Or is there a difference between image-results and image gallery?
Say we have an online-club of photo enthusiasts with lots of pictures published by website users. Can this website run AdSense or cannot?
I think what they mean by "image results page" would probably be something like the page you see when you use Googles image search function.
That is, you are seeing a selection of images drawn from other peoples websites, thus the copyright issues.
Using Adsense in an Image Gallery is fine, although some folks doing so have commented on the rather low earnings from those pages.
And to make Adsense work, there has to be enough text on the image page to give Google a good idea of what the subject of the image is so they can send appropriate ads.
Good alt text should be sufficient, though.
Why not just use captions, which are likely to be more useful to the viewer?
For example I have a page full of 30 little thumbnails. When you click on one of the thumbnails it opens in a new browser window in its full size. What I understand is that there's no problem with thumbnail pages, as they're so small but there may be a problem when it opens full (image result) as it's the original photo and may have copyright.
Of course, I may be wrong, I didn't ask this to Google.
Meta Descrip, Top page paragraph, and ALT contain the keywords/descrip of the image and the ads are always on target.
Swimsuit pic returns Bikini Ads, etc. This may not be the best however for your individual strategy as people looking for stock photos of swimsuit models are probably not going to click on an advertising for swimsuit apparel retailers.
It would help you to have more content relating to your specific site theme to offset the sometimes strange picture themes that might arise.
Copyright belongs to participating photographers, IMO the previous poster is right, the 'no image results' rule applies to images that don't fall within the scope of your site's copyright.
