My earnings were up for April (highest month ever for me), though that was in large part due to one of my seasonal websites having its big event of the year on 4/23. But surprisingly/happily, May is going strong so far (knock on wood), though it does look to be a bit off the pace of April. But for it to be performing as well as it is for me so far this month is a very encouraging sign. Here's hoping that the rest of you find similar success.

Unforunately still at $0.00, of course I started last Thursday and still trying to build traffic to my site ;) Good luck everyone!

A few percent down because there are only 30 days in April. My daily earnings were a bit up, but not enough to make up for the extra day ;)

This month started superb with a $500 spike yesterday, but it was just a one time luck..

April was down 43% on March (yes, only just over than half the March total).

EPC was down 45%. Impressions were down 12%, and CTR up 14%, by dropping poor CTR sites and pages but it's the collapse of EPC that's the killer.

This is on small to medium volumes, one to two million page views a month across several sites in different genres.

For comparison, my Adsonar earnings, some of which are from different pages on the same sites, had a 8% drop in EPC with a slightly higher CTR resulting in marginally up earnings (per thousand).

It's the Adsense that seems to be underperforming, not the sites. Having said that, Adsense is mostly still beating Adsonar in eCPM, but the gap is getting very close.

The last 2 days of April my earnings dropped like an old person with a bad hip on a wet floor >BLAM!< they had fallen and couldn't get up for 4 days. I was in a wee bit of a panic but I seem to get a lot of income from Europe and someone explained that May 1st was some high holy day or something and everyone ran off on holiday.

Today it seems to be back to normal and April was still my best month ever.

I just don't hold those high hopes for May at the moment.

First week in May is a bank holiday weekend in the UK and there is another bank holiday weekend at the end of the month

A lot of people fly off to the sun either for the week or just for the 3 days

April down by 11% from March. And still getting 'downer' this May. Fingers crossed and shaking.

April had one less day than March, so it's probably best to use something other that monthly totals for comparison.

On a per day basis April was with-in pennies of March.

Of course CTR, EPC, and eCPM were all over the map, up, down, and sideways at one time or another.

But in the end, things looked pretty good.

last week was up for me BUT I did some major adsense and site design mixing.

I changed my link colors to match my pages, i took some of the higher ads out and placed ads at the bottom of articles....it seems people either get lazy and don't want to scroll back up so they click.

or they liked the content and rewarded me....

so blend your ads in and make them look like your site... it does help... not as much as google raising our share but it helps.

Absolutely use something else such as the averages figure under the earnings column at the bottom of the monthly report. Using that figure ("average per day") and comparing one month to another, mine are still down. Way down. :(

Not religious ibill for most of us it's the traditional worker's day/labour day which has now been embraced as a national holiday across all of Europe. Yes, yes, I know the Germans and French etc were celebrating it for many years so don't let's get pedantic.

It's also the start for many holidays in the former USSR with it being Orthodox Easter and a national labour holiday week in China for many plus some south Amercian countries like Brazil celebrate labour day too...so all in all only the real serious clickers were out yesterday!

Not religious.....Orthodox Easter

Does not compute.

Out here in California we will celebrate Cinco de Mayo in 2 days which is a festival celebrating the liberation of tequila from Spain or something like that. I plan on liberating some tequila - VIVA TEQUILA!

It will help erase the sting of my last 4 days of earnings.

up about 10% of March's total. May seems headed in the right direction as well, if 3 days are an indicator.

My first month with adsense and it was a great month! I could have been in the UPS Club if I started 1 week earlier. I have been working on this site since 2001 and I have never seen anything like adsense for instant revenue.

It was our first full month and I can say we were happy with the results.

It helped reduce our AdWords expenditure which supports our income site.
