So my site was chugging along with a CTR in the low X.0 range, I decided to buy some advertising for the site to "get it out there". I spent $20 a day on some google adwords to get some people there and my CTR jumped to mid XX. Its been consistent for about 2 weeks now. I jsut find it amazing that people would click on an adword to get to my site, then click on my adsense (of the same topic) to get to another site at such an alarming rate. Might google deem me guity of click fraud? As far as I know they are all legit clicks but how can i justify such a high CTR jump?

Seems that some folks are clickers and some are not. You have pre-qualified visitors through adwords since they have to click to get to your site.

Now all you gotta do is expand your keywords and boost Adwords up to $100 a day and see what happens :)

Google is unlikely to complain about the quality of their own traffic - relax and enjoy it.

Congratulations MediaSpree! Just to remind you not to temp to increase your adword budget so high, you might lose. I've been doing this for quite sometimes now, one of my sites has a consistent 25-30% ctr, but everytime I increase traffic, the epc goes down. So in the end I just even out or sometimes lose. When it happens it takes a while to go back to the previous epc.

Simple by change of traffic source.

In my experience, You get the lowest possible CTR by posting a relevant URL in a forum or news group.

So each type of traffic has a typical CTR.

When I say increase traffic, I increased my adword budget.

Dont worry when ur CTR touches limit around 25-30 ur EPC would drastically reduce and then u wd come back to serp trafffic instead buying from adwords

I have a similar situation as your first post, and I have been wondering about this last statement, too. :)

If you do it, please let us know your findings. ;)

EPC drop is due to the quality of traffics (keywords) not because of CTR.

Yes, but it's less profitable than Adwords due to a higher cost and low traffics.
