- CTR is normal and strong
- Impressions are 1/3-1/2 for the day total which is normal
- eCPM is in the crapper
Normally my end of month generates awesome numbers.
Did the ads ran out this month?
Did Google's new CPM 'advancement' already start the decline and fall of the Google Empire?
Who cares as it's off to the pub for lunch and a pint.
We'll see if my eCPM is better when I get back :)
It's evident that there is something far wrong. I wonder what is responsible for such a large swing. Would it be prudent to contact Google about this?
My revenue so far is over the $x x x that account makes per day... and we're only half way through the day. No complaints here :)
Other (client) accounts are showing stable to small drops (3%) and could just be a slow server.
I think something is seriously wrong and I've been complaining about it, but people around here seem to think I'm nuts (maybe I am, but that's not the point).
I've written to Google (yesterday morning - it's now after 4:00 p,m. here) and have gotten no response.
It's pretty discouraging. I had my best day ever on the 15th and it's been all downhill from there. My heart goes out to you.
Geeze Bill, do you have to rub it in? The rest of us have been here slaving away!
I may show up for work early and stay late, especially since I've been working at home the last six years but I always take at least 2 long relaxing lunches during the week, always have. Life is just too short to jump to the time clock of a tightly wound bean counter.
ANYWAY ....
I'm mortified, my earnings look like they may end up off by 32% today while impressions and CTR may be the highest of the month. The only upside is this is still my best month ever so Google is probably punishing me for my success, showing me who's the boss :)
Have I mentioned again today this is why I sell direct advertising too? The billing is automatic monthly recurring for flat rate ads that with cash that magically shows up in my merchant account and it's always the same, KA CHING! but AdSense is a crap shoot worthy of Vegas odds. Anyone interested in setting up their own direct ads can even use PayPal's Subscriptions and Recurring Payments to handle this if you don't have a merchant account that supports it.
Ah, the AdSense rollercoaster, gotta love it, the stress, the anxiety, almost like work
the pints of bass ale plentiful
Now this really pi$$e$ me off...it's 02.30 UK time, incrediBILL in CA if I'm not mistaken, was drinking my favourite ale and I can't get it anywhere except out of a can!
10 years ago most pubs in my area sold Bass, now none...great progress innit eh!
The real fallout of these changes won't be apparent until the general pool of AdWords advertisers start using the new system... at the moment it's just the big boys who have the new options... as far as I know...
If your most of your site ads focus on "big bidders" and "the best keywords" it stands to reason it will flux as impression based ads are rolled out... but as the competitiveness sets in with CPM vs PPC positions it should go up again... I think CPM will be most used for "branding" image based ads...
