I have been having a really good look at my site and I cannot fathom how Adsense is working.....

My site is broken down into various categories.... widgets. double widgets & stuff that has nothing to do with widgets.....

A month ago all the pages were getting 3 to 4 targeted ads . Now 90% of the site gets the same 2 ads. Only 2 no more. But having said that one of the categories still has 4 good targeted ads. So I started looking into it a bit more...

Putting that to one side for a moment.

I am in the UK so I am browsing on a UK ISP. When I visit my site I am getting UK adverts. I thought that may be because I signed up as a UK publisher.....

Hang on a minute I thought. So I went to a site I know who is a adsense publisher. They are in the USA but I see great ads on their site but they are geared to the UK......

Here is my question..... Does anyone think that we the publishers are on our sites all the time. Are we just seeing the PSA's.

Do US visitors see different ads to what I am seeing when I view my site? I am still getting good revenue so am I not really seeing the good ads.....

When I log into one of these anonymous browsers and visit sites all I get is the PSA's.

Are we all being logged? It is making me wonder.....

Ads are geotargeted to the specific IP of the visitor on a country level. I am in London right now, and I am now seeing UK specific ads on all my pages. Previously, I saw US/Canada targeted ads on all my pages. I am actually finding it kind of interesting to see the difference in targeted ads based upon my geolocation. My pages are all targeted to a US/Canada audience, without even a mention of the UK.

When you use a proxy server, it will often tack their own proxy URL onto the front, meaning that it is a new URL for AdSense that it has not spidered. That is why you aren't seeing it from some types of proxy servers.

Try asking someone from the US for screen shots, to see the kind of ads others are seeing (I am assuming your site is for a US audience).
