Two Ad Block better than Four Ad Block?

I generally use the four ad AdSense block inline rectangle on my site, but was wondering if switching to a two ad block (square or verticle banner) might provide a higher EPC, since theoretically only the two "top/highest paying" ads would be displayed.

Has anyone had any experience testing this?

Having just installed AdSense, I wondered this also. I tested a 2 block vs. 4 block ad on similiar pages with similiar traffic, etc. My findings were that the 2 block had a higher epc but a lower ctr than the 4 block, so neither performed better or worse for me. My guess is that the 2 block obviously serves fewer ads and thereby give fewer options to entice your visitor. My general feeling is that if you have a high traffic site, 4 block is the way to go and 2 block would seem to work better on lower ctr/higher epc pages.
