When do you add Adsense to your site

What's the right time to start?

Sorry for asking what is such a newbie question here. I've looked for threads on this subject but couldn't find any, so if it's been covered in depth before just point me.

I have a new site on which I want to place Adsense. It's a content site and Adsense was always part of the plan: there's even an empty column waiting for that tower!

When though, should I actually sign up. Is it smart to do it once the site is up and running, even if there are no visitors yet, or does it make more sense to do the early link campaigning and directory submissions without Adsense?

There are two questions here: firstly, have any of you had experience of Adsense having either a positive or negative effect on link campaigns and/or directory submissions; secondly, is there any sense in adding it to a site that is not going to make $50 per month?

FWIW, my site currently has about 100+ uniques per day. Doing well in regional MSN and climbing in Yahoo. I only started seeking links two months ago, and very selectively, so some time to wait yet for Google.

Thanks.

If it's ready apply and get it up and running as soon as possible.

Not knowing your subject it is difficult to quantify earnings however there are some sites out there with less uniques than yours earning good money since their sites are specialised/niches which have good paying ads.

Some of my sites are very specialised and get only 30-40 uniques per day but they all still contribute to the pot at the end of the month:-)

Don't hesitate any longer.

Thanks. I guess that's what I wanted to hear.
