Adsense - Can I Have Other Ads On My Webpage As Well?

Adbrite, otherwise - can I have other ads as well as Adsense ads?

I scoured the forums here and elsewhere, but never came up with a definite answer for this one, so I'll ask it myself:

"What other kind of advertising, (that will earn me money), can I have on my webpage, where I already run Google Adsense and Adlink?"

Somebody suggested that Adbrite ads could be added - is this true?

Hmmmm... but Message #62 in that thread, from the AdsenseAdvisor says:

" Clearing up any confusion since some of you have been told by the Adsense support team that AdBrite ads aren't allowed to be displayed with AdSense--

Our policy on not displaying ads alongside ads from other contextual networks remains the same. For clarification- ads that are sold directly by the publisher are ok to display with AdSense, which would include AdBrite.

ASA "

And nearer the truth?

Yeah that seems to have been made clearer by the response from ASA.

Still if you have adsense on your site the general consensus is adsense pays more per click than other contextual ad suppliers

So i asked Google Adsense directly - and this is what they said:

"I understand you would like some clarification on our competing ads policy. To be more specific, we do not permit Google ads to be published on web pages that also contain what could be considered competing ads.
This would include all content-targeted ads as well as text-based ads. We do allow affiliate or limited-text links, but we do not allow text-based ads that either directly mimic or attempt to be associated with Google
ads.

Our intent with this policy is to be as fair to our advertisers as possible and to maintain the integrity of the AdWords and AdSense programmes. This means limiting the other types of ads that AdSense
publishers display along with our ads. Please also note that we constantly monitor all of the web pages displaying Google ads."

So - is that a yes or a no?

It's a 'no' on content-targeted ads and/or text-based ads.

I hadn't thought of this before. I use Amazon ads with AdSense. I usually hand pick the books but on a few pages I have the link where Amazon lists books related to the page. This must mean I can't use those either.

Am I reading this right?

I am a newbie.

So does this mean you CANNOT have google adsense on the same page as affiliate links you use from commission junction, linkshare etc?

Yes or No

Thanks!

it would be crazy if amazon isn't allowed on the same page as adsense ads. I've seen thousands of sites who do it. I do it on all my sites.I have also never heard anybody say anything about it being not allowed.

You CAN use adsense with affiliate links like CJ, Linkshare, etc.

You just can't try to mimic the adsense ads look.
