There are two types of adsense ads:

Button (125x125)

and

Vertical Banner (120 x 240)

That we'd like to use. But, they are just a schosh too wide. We'd like to have them be around 105 px. Is is possible to do this?

If not, are there any adsense alternatives?

Best regards,

You can only use the sizes provided. Changing the width in the code won't work, and is against the TOS. I have the same problem unfortunately. I'd also like to be able to change the fonts, text sizes, underlines etc used in the ads, but that's not possible either.

I'd like a banner that is three ads wide, but they don't do one.

There is a problem with being too rigid about page layout. Everybody has different ways of configuring their browser and monitor, and we as webmasters have to take this into account. I like a nice clean browser, and my wife's PC has several toolbars from Google, Ebay and others. My daughter likes her PC to have a 1024 wide screen, and we have the 800*600 size. My site shows up differently on all of these monitors. Who knows what other combinations are out there!

I certainly wouldn't bin out Adsense because the banner is 15px too wide! The earnings I have made from Adsense far outstrip the earnings I have had from other advertisers by many times. Some affiliates earned me a big, fat zero.

I'd be inclined to work with the sizes they do, and make sure the site looks good on a variety of monitor/browser configurations.

You could put the ad inside an IFrame set to 105 by XXX thereby cropping the ad. Whether this meets the Terms of Service could be an issue, I'd read them carefully. I believe an ad inside an empty IFrame of the same size does meet the TOS. There's definitely a lot more to this.

No problem ;-)

<body style=zoom:75%>

And You have an 90x180 ad block instead of an 120x240
