How does smart pricing evaluate performance

Does smart pricing render decisions based on individual page performance, or by the performance of an account overall?

What I'm getting at is: if you have a well performing site and want to add other sites, is it possible that you could torpedo the decent epc you get on the first site by adding a second site that will probably never perform as well, i.e. small hobby site.

Hope this gets some response as it's of great interest.
I tried a few days ago with much the same.

I think it does both, but that's just a feeling.

Its per PAGE - in my opinion.

I really hope it's per page, because otherwise you could shoot yourself in the foot by adding more sites to the account.

On a related note, I recently went from two adblocks to one. EPC shot up and was great for a week. Then back down again. Makes me wonder if I should alternate copies of the site. One week, upload the two adblock version, next week upload the one adblock version. Keep smartpricing off guard.

I also think it's on a per page basis.

I have a page that has paid very well since I put it up. I haven't seen ANY indication that Smart pricing has devalued this page, and the page has been only very slightly changed in the 9 months it has been online. The apparent EPC for this page has been rock solid.

Meanwhile the bulk of my old pages have seen a big variation in apparent EPC. Overall they have declined much more than I care to think about.

New pages seem to start off at some default level of apparent EPC and slowly sink to some kind of base level that gets reset occasionally.

All of which is confused by the comings and goings of various advertizers of course, and advertizers apparently raising or lowering bids.

The Type of Page Content Matters

If I recall right, Google uses (used?) the example of the camera oriented page. Tips on how to use a camera get lower earnings than a page reviewing cameras.

My experience is that this is a really, really important tip.
