This week I moved hosts (accelerated by a problem at the place where a key website happened to be located). For a variety of reasons, the landing page URL of the site was always a (phrase) . com - even though the site is usally referenced through a name with the word computer in it.

For a short period of time the landing page was at a url with my company name in it - let's just say the word mountain is in the name.

Last week the ads were all over the place, but more or less based on content in the page. When the site was at the temporary URL - with "mountain" all the ads changed to "mountain resort" and "real estate ads". When things settled down to the correct landing page which now has the right name, all the ads are computer related.

Seems as if the ad targeting looks at the URL and sees if it can decipher something and uses this more strongly than the content, perhaps if certain words are in it?
