I assume this is clicks getting added and then being taken off by the click-fraud system... but one moment I was at XXX.90, and the next my earnings had dropped to XXX.81. That 9c would've made all the difference to today aswell!

There have been times when I would swear seeing this happen, but then would convince myself I was dyslexic.
So... who knows enough about google's click scrubbing to say whether or not it is possible?

I thought I'd seen it happen before too - just this time whilst being particularly sad at stat-checking I caught it in the act, and thanks to a browser cache and forward and back butt's could prove to myself I didn't need to strengthen my tea. Now I'm at XXX+1.92, so all's forgiven :)

Their system for this is somewhat distributed, isn't it? You might have been looking at an out-of-date db for a sec.

It often depends which server your stats are being served from, some can be slightly behind others. So don't worry about these kind of fluctuations at all, they will all eventually match :)

That must be it - just down $2 now for aggregate data, but goes back up $2 for channel data. Guess it's time to go to bed and stop hassling the google data center..
