colours and ctr....any trends?

has anyone noticed any interesting trends as far as the different colour options now available.

my avge. ctr went from 0.6% to around 1.0% when I changed to both leaderboards and a distinctive colour on the same day....so I don't know the more important change! agh!

also, generally speaking, are people going for colours that tie in with their sites or those that stand out. I have gone firstly for the former and will experiment on a weekly basis.

I experienced a small but significant improvement in CTR when I went to a color scheme that exactly matched my site.

I still haven't had the nerve to replace my skyscraper with a leaderboard to test that out. Of course, that change would require redoing the color testing. bleah.

good points all, that was what I was saying that it would take weeks for us individually to test 468 red, 468 pink, 468 black, 728 red, 728 plain, etc, etc so I was hoping for some "general trends" stats to be posted

e.g.

#leaderboard better than 468 all other things being equal.
#468 with colours same as bg sucks
#leaderboard with same bg but distinctive border and fonts rocks....

etc, etc

as a community, we can help each other in this respect. I am willing to post stats to contribute to this process.
