Seeing way more image ads than before

Is anyone seeing more image ads on their sites? I am seeing several popping up on one of my sites and have to say they look good and are related to some of the bigger ad campaignsI've seen on TV and in print.

But until now I've only seen a rare few here and there and not all over the place.

I only allow text ads on my sites. Image ads are obviously ads and may be easier to ignore.

Yet Google claims that image ads may have greater CTR. What do people here think?

I saw an increase in CTR when I allowed image ads on my forums, as opposed to strictly text ads before.

i am also noticing increasing no of google image ads on forum which i regularly visit.

I like image ads, especially as there is not always an image ad, so sometimes you get them sometimes you don't and I like that changing as it may result in higher ad awareness.

I won't be tunring images off.

Unlike text ads, where the effect is muted, off-topic image ads stick out like sore thumbs. They can also clash with your site's carefully chosen graphics and color schemes.

Still, I like the idea that image ads fight ad blindness. I think I'll put them to the test in a month or two. (Got all my custom channels committed to other test variables at the moment.)

I too have noticed the increase in image ads, and an increase in CTR also
