If someone clicks on heading of new google add links box, will google assume it as a click, however clicking on headings just display advertisers web sites on new page.

Google doesn't assume, Google counts. And even for Google, a click is a click.

however clicking on headings just display advertisers web sites on new page

Yes. That's why you don't get paid for the first click.

Doesn't anyone actually read the docs, FAQ and Terms and Conditions?

I came to that conclusion along time ago about many things.

There seems to be an attitude that if there is not a big STOP sign that anything goes until they're told otherwise!

Anyone with teenage kids will recognise the problem:-(

Yes, I read the docs, FAQ and T&C and in my opinion the information there is not clear. According to the FAQ, clicks on the Ad Links will not be tracked in the reports. so, "a click is a click" is not true for the click on the Adlinks itself. It will be counted as an impression only.

Further prohibits the T&C clicking on the Adlinks through "fraudulent or other invalid means".

Is clicking on the Ad Links to see what type of ads are presented fraudulent? The most authorative answer about this until now was given by AdSenseAdvisor in [webmasterworld.com ]. According to his posts, clicking is not recommended because it alters the impression statistics, but it is not a big NO.

I want to see adds of my competitors in add link box so as to filter out some sites. But suppose if we should not click on search terms either, then how can we find out our competitors adds.
