Okay whilst I cannot display stats in terms of what's happening to my account right now - I can give a pretty good flavour of the scenario and rough percentages to see whether anyone else is suffering the same

March 1st : 10,000 imps : 500 clicks : 2.2% CTR : Payment $100
March 21st : 10,000 imps : 500 clicks : 2.2% CTR : Payment $66

The site driving all the revenue is:

1. Relatively new on the Adsense platform (i.e. just over 3 weeks)

2. The first figures above are a Tuesday (normally my biggest day just eclipsing Monday's) the second underneath a Monday

3. It is a very niche area of interest, so not general like directory based.

Having read a number of other threads - is this the way Adsense is starting to *iss people off - as a 33% fall in rev for virtually identical figures (as the real ones are) has no bearing on the traffic or overall trends in paymnts from advertisers that use other PPC's.

Any ideas from anyone? Is there a re-adjustment at the end of the month? Is this the normal pattern for new sites?

Just curious to know more and 'understand' how this works to be honest.

BTW my repeat visitors run at about 3% so repeat visitors not using Google is not likely to be a 33% drop!

what do i wrong?

i have 20.000 - 38.000 impressions a day, but just a little 5 dollar a day...

its depressing me, its more dan 16 ours of thinking work thats in my sites.. and that every day! I think you can make money with writing a book about a publisher that do's suicide because of too small earings ... ;)

ontopic: i had earings with 200 impressions of 10 dollar a day... but when i same like you increased my impressions the earings disapear!

I don't think there are initial higher revenues, however one of the core missions for the next few months is to get my site away from adsense revenue for the simple reason that it fluctuates too much.

One day I can make $XXX, the next I make $XX, this kind of flux is too much for my liking.

I saw the opposite. When starting with adsense the algorithm had difficulties finding the right advertisements. Since I started CPM increased with a factor 3. It took adsense 6 weeks to stabilize on that level. IMHO your 33% fluctuation is not alarming.

Fluctuations of Adsense have been discussed earlier, for example in this thread [webmasterworld.com].

Wait a few months and you'll see $500 a day go to $10 a day!

There are already a lot of threads on this, but the bottom line is that there is a lot more room for ads and fewer ads chasing that space. The problem has been getting worse over the past few months. The other issue is that if your clicks don't convert (assuming someone is tracking this), Adsense devalues your clicks - called SmartPricing.

I use AdWords to some extent, and I've bought keywords that I know have brought me $.50/click (or more) for $.05/click.

I will tell you though, there is a lot of chaos behind the numbers I see - ie. some days of the week with fabulous price per click and some days it's rock bottom. So frankly, I don't think it's possible for us at this level of the food chain to completely comprehend whatever is going on.

it is well known that consumers spend more at the beginning of the month (something to do with money running out towards the end of the month) perhaps the advertisers in your niche reflect this with lower bids as the month progresses.
