I also got the email and found this part interesting,

"We're also beginning tests of a mixed ad unit, to include both Google ads and Ad Links. This is a small-scale test that we'll be running on less than 2% of all AdSense page views on a random basis, so you may or may not see these combined ad units on your standard ad formats."

Has anyone seen these ads yet?

They may be those ads that can let you search for other ads.. I think Jenstar pointed these out earlier.

kodaks,

From the way I read it I think they are running some kind of test for ads that are going to be a combination of regular AdSense ads and AdLinks on the same ad. Also they stated that it will only appear on 2% of the ads. I was wondering if anybody has seen any yet.

Hard to imagine how that is going to look.

I don't think so.

I think they replace one of the ads in an ad unit by an ad links unit. If users click on ad links unit located inside the ad unit, the publisher will get paid as an normal ad. If this is true, I have two questions.

1. How they determine the EPC for this ad links unit if the user doesn't click the ads on the second page?

2. Is this test applied to everyone even the publisher doesn't implement the Ad Links.

If the user clicks on the AdLink the publisher may not get paid unless the user also clicks on an ad on the following page.

From the e-mail:
you will be paid for all ad clicks that occur as part of this test

What does "all ad clicks" mean in the above quote?

I quess you're right about the clicks, but who pays if a visitor clicks on the AdLinks ad but not an ad?

This is what Ad Links in an ad unit looks like:

That looks like it could get some people to start paying attention to the ads. Also looks like a good way to get people to accidently click on the ad to the right :)
