AdSense checks + CTR

Hello,

I'm new to this forum and also new with AdSense.
Have been accepted about 4 days ago, and everything seems to be OK.

My average CTR is about 1.9%, I wonder is this high, low or OK?

Also, I wonder how true are the $ values from the reports.
If my report shows $x earnings in a month (let's suppose it is over $100), will I get that exact money ($x) by check or this will be audited by google and I will only get $x - $y?

I know many of you got the first checks and I just wonder if there is a difference between check value and the reported values?

For some there has been a difference between shown earnings and the check after an audit. Others have received exactly what their earnings showed. Just make sure you don't click your own ads, or have others click ads on your behalf and you should be ok.

As far as CTR, Adsense Terms don't allow disclosure. As for CTR in general, there is a lot that will determine CTR, the subject matter on the site, location of the ads, how targeted the ads to your audience, among other things. Just start from where you are, read what you can about improving your visitor response rate to your site and Adsense, and try ONE thing at a time on just a few pages to see if it helps or not. If it does, then go with that change through your site where feasible. If not, drop that change.

You should probably use a set period of time to give the change a chance ... don't be changing things daily or you will never be sure what works and what doesn't.

Good luck

The most I have heard of is just a few dollars difference between the two. But if you get a "fraululent clicks" email, the difference could be greater.

I have recieved checks for the exact amounts shown in my stats, 4 digits per month. No adjustments at all. I have been very carefull not to click the ads or encourage clicks whatsoever.

Thanks for your answers...
I will make sure to not bid on my own ads. :)

I would kill to have a 1.9% CTR.. *sighs*... but my ads are primarily on forums, which may detract from CTR.. not sure...

"I would kill to have a 1.9% CTR"

Me, too. I think I have the record for the lowest steady CTR (over 2 months).

For my July check there was a difference of $0.01.
I'll leave you all guessing as to whether i was richer or poorer. ;)

Olias - Since my check was $0.01 less than my account information, I guess you ended up richer.

I won't ask you for it back ;-)

I've averaged 2.016% this moonth, up from 1.875% before up from 1.726% before that. Added more sites with a better focus and better convertability. Also, each site, as it's added needs some time to get all pages targeted. And more pages enter googles index constantly, so it's only going up from here :)
