Few Clicks, make more money?

Hello,

I am an adsense publisher and I have been using adsense on my webpage. I am wondering why fewer clicks give more money than having more clicks for the same ads. It seems the more visitors I get, the less money I get for each click, and is this typical for adsense? I am not complaining, I am just trying to see if I am doing something wrong, or if this is normal. Thanks.

It is an odd phenomenon that I have noticed on my site too since day one. Seems like the more I work the less return I get for my effort.
