Electronic Funds Transfer (BETA)
Yes - it is nice that they are now offering this...
But rather than using a reliable third-party, it seems they prefer to use a beta version of what I presume is in-house software.
I wonder how many AdSense publishers will choose to be guinea-pigs?
That process of actually getting dressed for the 5 days after the payment is posted and meandering out to the mailbox is way too much effort. Then having to dust off the car windshield once a month just to be able to see to drive to the bank to deposit a check is over the top. Throws my whole routine off.
I signed up, someone gotta be a brave early adopter.
[edit]forgot to mention I can't start drinking before the mailman arrives during that Google check anticipation week, problem solved with direct deposit :)[/edit]
They haven't fouled up on payments to date, and they have a fallback plan if it goes pear-shaped.
Worse that can happen is that it'll be a month late. I earn a reasonable amount from Adsense, but the bank interest I'd lose for a month is WAY under what I get charged per cheque paid in - no contest.
Disappointed to hear we have to wait for the April check for March earnings though. I too hate to get dressed, drive 40 miles to cash my check. Soon, I am going to be on the beach sipping pina coladas, in very much early retirement, thanks to Google or...
Nice to just use my card to get my money, and not have to come home once a month to get my check... I can laptop changes to the website, from anywhere in the world, and now use my money there too... in fact a couple weeks ago I posted in a thread here that one day we would have electronic deposit... that was quick! lol
I think this push has something to do with Microsoft breathing down their neck.... (removed text lest dee goo-spies read and cancel my adsense acct... see stock news and figure it for yourselves)They need to stay two steps ahead of Microsoft to keep their clients. I welcome the competitive wars, that will bring more change, and upgrades useful to the publishers.
$500 million stock cash in?
What is that telling us, if anything?
